Maine Children's Cancer Program Walk
Mark your calendar for the 38th annual Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP) Walk on Saturday, September 13th, 2025! Since 1986, communities across Maine have come together in Saturday in September to walk in solidarity with local children fighting cancer and blood disorders. This special event, often referred to as a “family reunion” for our community, provides our patients and families the opportunity to honor those fighting cancer, celebrate those in remission, and remember those who are no longer with us.
Strike Out Cancer in Kids
For over 30 seasons, the Portland Sea Dogs and community champions have teamed up with the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP) to make a difference for local kids facing cancer and blood disorders. Strike Out Cancer in Kids is more than a fundraising campaign—it’s a beloved ballpark tradition that has raised over $5.36 million and brought powerful awareness to the fight against childhood cancer right here in Maine.
This year marks the 31st season, and we’re turning up the excitement with a friendly rivalry between Team Slugger Kid and Team Slugger! Fans of all ages can get in on the action by joining a team and fundraising to support MCCP patients and families. Whether you're repping Team Slugger Kid or standing strong with Team Slugger, your support helps knock childhood cancer out of the park. Learn more about Strike Out Cancer in Kids.
Maine Marathon
Each October for over a decade, a dedicated group of runners known as Team MCCP has come together to run in the Maine Marathon with one common goal: to support the patients and families receiving life-saving care at MaineHealth Maine Children's Cancer Program. This special team is made up of patients' loved ones, MCCP caregivers and clinicians, and selfless community members who simply want to make a meaningful difference for local kids facing unfathomable challenges. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a first timer, there's a race for everyone: choose from the relay, half marathon, or go the distance with the full marathon!
